& Our Hotel
100+ Years Old
42 En-suite rooms
East Sussex 1923
The hotel dates back to the turn of the 20th century. We have photographic proof of the hotel dating back to 1923 named the Wilmington Hotel. Between 1923 and 1931 the hotel was renamed the New Wilmington Hotel, due to a possible fire, but this is not confirmed. The previous owners bought the hotel in 1980, from Chelsea football legend Barry Bridges, as the New Wilmington Hotel, and carried out a number of refurbishments and upgrades over the last 35 years to what it is today.
The hotel was taken over in July 2019 by Paul Childs and Sally Kitchen, who have brought with them a highly experienced team in the field of hospitality to start it’s new chapter as a leading boutique hotel in Eastbourne. They look forward to welcoming you as they are there most days supporting their much-loved team.
